About Sam Chapman
Sam Chapman is a proud Southampton local with a strong academic and professional background. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with Merit from the University of Winchester, a Master’s in Leadership and Management (MSc) again with Merit from the University of Southampton, and a BA (Hons) in Archaeology from the same institution, a prestigious Russell Group university.
Sam's career began with over a decade of service in the NHS, where he gained extensive experience in business growth, transformation, and management. Following this, he retrained in accountancy, combining his leadership skills with a deep understanding of financial management. This unique blend of expertise has shaped Lightbulb Accounting into a firm that not only manages daily financial tasks but also drives business efficiency through technological innovation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Sam is deeply committed to his community. In May 2023, he was elected as a Southampton City Councillor for the Bassett Ward, the part of the city where he lives with his family. He is passionate about supporting local businesses and initiatives, contributing to the growth and success of his community.
